Remember the huge infrastructure overhaul when companies were preparing for the introduction of 4G in 2015? 5G promises computing speeds that are 100 times faster than current networks. As such, data centers will have to mix edge and modular to support these super-fast computing rates. meaning that preparations are going to be accordingly extreme:more power, cooling, servers, racks, PDUs, and space.

Edge micro data centers data centers

With numerous connected technologies taking advantage of 5G, the challenge are going to be to process the high volumes of data at high speed, this is where edge computing comes in. Often mentioned as the next major technology trend after the cloud, edge computing describes an environment where data processing takes place as close as possible to the info source. this may ensure speed and low latency, helping to satisfy 5G’s performance goals. Since 5G cannot deliver on its promises without ultra-low latency and high levels of interconnection, or in other words, without a large fleet of smaller data centres, physically located within the populations they serve. Of course, there is still a requirement for central data centers to handle applications’ less latency-critical needs.

Data center:time to prepare for the 5G Era

It provides chance as well as challenge. Service providers will need to refine or transform their architecture to support 5G.

When rapid deployment is required, traditional data centre solutions can impede the expansion process with complicated construction timelines and higher TCO. As a result, data center integrated solution is fast becoming the construction method of choice for data center upscaling.

As an expert of integrated solutions for data center infrastructure, Kstar has launched a series of integrated solutions, including:

IDU Mini Data Center Solutions

IDM Small and Medium Data Center Solutions

IDR Medium and Large Data Center Solutions

IOU Smart Outdoor Integrated Cabinet Based on Various Construction Scenarios

To create rapid deployment, safety and reliability, high efficiency and energy saving, intelligent management data centers to users, and provide them with more effective management and services throughout the life cycle in all connections, including design, deployment, operation and maintenance. Kstar introduces the new generation smart modular data center solutions with complete integration of fire protection, dynamic environment monitoring system, power supply, distribution systems, battery, cooling system, cabinets and containment and the hot aisles and cold aisles are isolated to lower PUE to 1.4.

With independent research and development of core components, modular design for all products, standard production line, factory pre-installation, pre-test,and whole-package transportation, field installation requires only basic combined cabinet assembly for plug and play and rapid deployment.

Both module sides can be extended flexibly, and modules can be copied and deployed in stages based on actual needs, which saves 30% of installation time

In accordance with the variety of actual needs, there are three forms of selection: single cabinet series, dual rack series, and multi-cabinet series.

A totally closed isolation scheme of the cold and hot aisel is adopted for the series with excellent compatibility, the high utilization rate of cooling capacity, and energy-saving. It is equipped with the standard emergency fan and photo log function. Unique pop-up door components and rack-type auxiliary fire-fighting components are optional, which improves the operation and maintenance safety of the unit;

IDM solution for medium data centers

The IDM series is suited to single or double-row construction scenarios with the length of a single micro-module within 15 meters, and the deployment methods of optional closed cold aisle or hot aisle or closed cold and hot channel. The hot and cold air streams are isolated from each other.

It is recommended to adopt a variable frequency energy-saving inrow air conditioner to eliminate local hot spots, enhance the bearing load capacity of the single IT cabinet, isolate cold and hot air and decrease energy consumption.

N + 1 or 2N architecture design can be selected depending on the construction level. Power supply flow is visible and quick fault positioning is achievable with intelligent alarm analysis. The integrated UPS power distribution cabinet integrates UPS, UPS power distribution cabinet, precision array cabinet, air conditioning power distribution, lighting power distribution and other power distribution in a standard integrated cabinet. which can save as much as 20% of your available floor space.

The power module has multiple capacities selection and configuration capacities based on the actual demand, and the maximum output efficiency of the system is up to 96.6%Open skylight is adopted in the closed channel, which is linked with the fire-fighting system. If a fire alarm occurs, the skylight opens automatically,Thus, it improves data center reliability and security overall.

IDR solution for large data centers

The IDR series is suited primarily to large data center construction requirements and based on the different scenario, the cooling system includes inrow type and room cooling type, both of them supports air cooling and water cooling.

For energy-saving, the system adopt electronic expansion valve, self-developed variable frequency drive, variable frequency compressor, and EC fan, it reduce the power consumption.

The outdoor air conditioner dominates the industry in terms of the double protection design of copper tube protective cover of condenser, and aluminum plate spraying is adopted.

In the ultra-low temperature scenario, in which the outdoor temperature is below -20 degrees,it is equipped with the natural cooling energy-saving module of fluorine pump, ensuring continuous refrigeration in the server room and improve the safety of the data center.

IOU solution for outdoor small data center

The IP55 waterproof design is applied for Kstar IOU smart outdoor cabinet.with waterproof, dust-proof, anti-theft and breakage-proof benefits, and it is suited to all types of outdoor complex usage scenarios, as a result of the broad suitable temperature range.

The series solution equipment covers a small area of the space with flexible configuration, and customization can be realized according to the actual demand with flexible installation and free maintenance, and because of this, it is the superior choice for outdoor small data center usage scenarios.

Kstar monitor system adopts integrating with hardware and software design and real-time monitoring of all equipment operating parameters, environmental temperature and humidity, fire alarm, water leakage, smoke sensing, video, etc. of micro-module data center infrastructure can be achieved, and third-party intelligent equipment data access management can be developed according to the protocal. Multi-network remote centralized monitoring for a concise refined monitoring interface can also be fulfilled to achieve comprehensive intelligent unified supervision.

Statements can be generated according to customer needs; the use of data center resources can also be effectively monitored through optional functions to realize resource pooling, which overall saves on human input in operation and maintenance, and increases the utilization rate of resources by more than 20%.

The future is around the cornor, we can do nothing but prepare early.
